Course overview

This site is the single place for everything in the course: lecture notes, slide decks, Figma tutorials and assignment briefs.

Each week has two parts:

  • Theory lecture β€” concepts, vocabulary and examples. Notes land here right after the class.
  • Lab session β€” a step-by-step Figma tutorial you work through yourself, with screenshots and short animations for every step.

You will see the full course outline in the sidebar from the first day, including topics we have not reached yet. Those show a πŸ”’ and unlock automatically after the matching lecture.

That is deliberate: knowing the shape of the whole semester helps you connect ideas, but reading ahead out of context usually does more harm than good in a craft subject.

  1. A Figma account β€” free, and the Education plan is worth applying for. See Software setup.

  2. A mouse or trackpad you are comfortable with. Figma is a precision tool; fighting your input device will slow you down all semester.

  3. A notebook. Sketching on paper before opening Figma is not old-fashioned, it is faster.

Bring questions to the lab session β€” that is what it is for. For anything outside class hours, email me or ask in the course group.
