Creating Typography Styles

Creating typography styles in Figma allows you to maintain consistent text formatting across your designs. This is part of the design system and helps ensure that your text elements are uniform and easy to manage.

  1. Select the Text tool
    Press TT to activate the Text tool, then click on the canvas and type your desired text.

  2. Style your text
    With the text layer selected, use the right panel to adjust the font, size, weight, line height, and other properties to achieve your desired look.

  3. Create a text style
    Once you have styled your text, click on the four dots icon in the right panel under the Text section to open the Styles menu. Click the + button to create a new text style. Name your style appropriately (e.g., “Heading 1”, “Body Text”) and click “Create Style”.
